Lost user name and password Powerbook

I feel like a idiot. I thought it would be cool to change may username to my phone number and address, so if anyone ever fould my powerbook when they opened it it would give them my info to return it. Well, after trying to re logg in it now asks for the username to be typein actually how it was. I cant figure it out..... Is there any one that knows how to re set this thing. Thanks ahead of time. I tried the dick that came with it.....while holding down the C that wont work.. Thanks for any help. 17" powerbook OS X 10.3
 
You may have to reinstall your OS. And just to be clear, when you try to boot from a disk, start the computer and hold down C until the grey screen with an apple appears.
 
Thanks for the reply Randy. Sorry you guy's for the spelling in the prior post. I'm not even sure this is the right disk..... It's labled .MAC Version 2.5 It's the only disk that came with the Powerbook. I guess I will give Apple Support a call in the morning. I would be fine if it did not require me to enter the username also. Address + capitals +comma's+ phone number cant figure out the right combo! First username was my name and it never requied me to enter at logg in only the password.
 
You can reset account passwords. Boot into your macos CD/DVD holding the 'C' key. In the menu bar on top you will find some functions such as Disk Utility... There should be an option for resetting the account passwords.

yeah, you can't boot from your .mac cd. If you got it from apple, it should have come with a System disk.... yeah you need to call Apple, or borrow someone else's system disk.
 
Got it restarted with the System disk from Apple store. Thanks everyone!Lost everything but have all my pics and things on my desk top.
1) load system cd
2)restart and hold the "C" key down till the gray screen with apple shows
3) follow onscreen directions to completely re-install or go to upper left and click on reset password.
I had to completely re install because not just the password was changed buy so was the username(big no no)
