Lotus Notes Error

Hi All,

We have a user using Lotus Notes 6.5.4 on a MAC and when she sends a PDF or Adobe Illusttrator file to anyone, none of these people are able to open it.

We all get the error message - File Object is truncated.

Now we have other Mac users on the same version, that do not have this problem when sending these files.

Does anyone have an idea as to what may be causing this..

cheers

Paull

Found this in Lotus Internal Knowledge Base (which I'm lucky enough to have access to):

Title: Attachment Becomes Corrupted when Sent from a MAC OS X Client
Product: Lotus Notes > Lotus Notes > 6.5
Platform: Mac OS X
Date: 22/12/2004
Doc Number: 1193756

Problem
A user on Mac OS X attaches a file and sends it to a Windows user. Both users are on the Notes 6.5.1 client. When the Windows user receives the attachment and attempts to detach it, they receive the following error:
"File object is truncated - file may have been damaged: could not save to file C:\..."

Solution
In this case, LZ1 compression was enabled in the user's database; unchecking it resolved the problem.

To fix this, right click on the database icon on the workspace, and choose Database --> Properties. Jump to the last tab (the icon of the stupid hat with the propellor) and uncheck the item "Use LZ1 compression for attachments".

I hope that helps. :-)
