I have a Firewire disk ... i need to low level format ... but ...
AppleDriveSetup doesn't support Firewire disks ...
AppleDiskUtilty doen't support low formatting
FWB HardDiskToolkit 4.5.2 (doesn't low format my Fire wire disk)

is there a way to use the Darwin pdisk command to do this ???

Thanks!!

Maybe this sounds quite silly but i use to open the firewire or USB case, unmount and plug it in my PC to do low level formats.
obviously i am talking about firewire and usb hard disk cases with full size IDE HD inside.
The only problem is, you have to mount the HD in your mac via IDE cables (G3-G4 towers or desktops) to reformat to HFS+ and then mount on its original firewire case.
I though Hardisk tool kit would format firewire drives...i don't have a FW HD yet to test it.

No, i can't ... the disk is 2,5" format .... and unfortunatly FWB won't low format my disk ... (only fast format is available !) :-(((((

testuser has not let me down !!! Even this time he has found me a solution ...

i'll try ... and i'll post news here ... for now
