Do you get access to the iDisk?

What features can be used?
Also, does it require a credit card to sign up?

Doesn't matter anyway now....just noticed Apple made an offer....it's 49 pounds instead of 69, I think thats if its brought with the ibook

No credit card required. I did try the 60day trial. But you don't get the software downloads, of course... iDisk and .mac mail: No problem.

I did a while back. Not bad I must say. Definately in my opinion a good idea to try before you buy.

PS. I'm back.

i hate this, im trying to buy mine but i get a network error. only 2 days for expiration, oh well..

That's how I got started @ .Mac
I paid up within 30 days.
There are many different services,
so many different needs can be met.
For me, I don't know how I'd get by without iDisk and iSync.
I could live without my .Mac eMail account,
but along with my corporate and MSN accounts,
it has an important place in my eMail scheme.
For me, the available software and backups aren't a help.

I'm with dirtbagg, but I have had my .Mac account since it was first introduced. Like dirtbagg I don't know how I would get along without all the features and I have surprised myself that I actually use most or all of them. Given the increased integration in Panther and the promised further integration in Tiger, .Mac is becoming even more essential.
