We have a verry big problem to get the PC go online via our switch to the internet.

We have one D-Link switch, three macs and one PC.
The Macs(All OS X) have no problem connecting to the internet via the switch
(I got a 10Mbit line)
But the PC(Win 2k) gets the top speed at 6kb/sec, the macs get 1.1Mb/sec.
Can the Mac interfear with the PC´s networking?

or do i need to post this message on a PC board? :(

We even tried to conect to the pc directly, but still only 4-6kb/sec it than should be at least 8MB/sec.

We all thing it´s werry strange here.

From my personal experience, my PowerBook G4/500 with MacOS X 10.1.4 downloads at a higher speed than my self-built Windows 2000 Professional system with 1GHz of Athlon, ASUS A7V-266E motherboard, 256MB of DDR RAM, 15GB of ATA 100/7200RPM Hard Drive, 32MB of TNT 2 Video card and D-Link 530 Ethernet card.

So you are not reading it wrong. This is when Apple's hardware comes to shine. Since it builts both of its software and hardware, the computer company can control the quality of its products better than other computer companies in most areas.

My only suggestion is wait for SP3 for the Windows 2000 machine, if you cannot find a solution or a hack from one of the boards on the Net.

Good luck!

Yeah, but i shouldn´t be 6kb/sec.....

when my macs have 1.1Mb/sec at the top speed.

What does SP3 means?, i´m a swede so i can´t many "computer"-words thats not in the dictionary.

SP3 stands for Service Pack 3. I suspect that you have yet installed SP2? Go to WindowsUpdate via your Windows 2000 system and upgrade it to SP2. You will feel a speed boost with the service pack.
