Mac Installation Problem

Hi! I was trying to install mac on a new computer and at first the grey loading screen appeared with the apple. And after a while the apple turned into another symbol and it just never went anywhere. Can anyone help me?

Are the installation discs ones that came with another computer? Or are they retail discs?

Discs from another computer will not install.

Maybe that's why. I was installing it on a pearpc emulator, and I downloaded a .dmg file and converted it to .iso...

Have you tried with a legal copy of OS X? It's against the board rules here to talk about illegally downloaded copies of software.
