Mac, iPhone and L2TP connection

My ISP recently moved my connection over from PPPOE to a L2TP.

But since then every 4-5th webpage I visit it basically "freezes" my wireless router (Edimax BR-6225n) and I have to switch it off and on again to reset it. The router is supposed to be Mac and L2TP compatible. My Macbook pro is currently on 10.6.7.

When connecting my iPhone 4 with the latest update on, it also seems to work sporadically.

My housemate has a Windows 7 machine and that doesn't seem to affect or "freeze" the router at all. It's just when I switch my Macbook Pro on it happens.

The technician installed the router so everything should be right there, but if there is anything I should be looking for settings wise on the router or Macbook Pro, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Andre.

Andrea your setting for the Network settings are easy to find! Just look into your Dock and find the System Preferences, and launch system Preferences. When System Preferences come up click on the "Network" pane. Check the settings here and make sure you are getting an IP, Subnet Mask, and are seeing the router IP. Make sure you are using DHCP from the router or Static (Manually setup).

Then to get better control click on the "Advanced" button. A drop-down will come down where a network geek can really get gradual control of the network settings. So in the drop-down use the toggle bad to turn off IPv6 since your router doesn't do IPv6.

The Mac has been "chatty" since the late 80's when Apple went from Appletalk for the TCP/IP. So don't let Windrods say Macs are "Chatty" since this is not 1985.

Now have you got into that router yet to see it's settings and if it is doing DHCP?
