What is the most RAM I can update my Mac Mini (PowerPC) to?

About how much will it cost?

Can it only be done at an Apple store?

You can do it yourself. It's not the simplest machine to get apart but here's the guide.

The cost will be the cost of the memory you buy, many people here recommend Crucial for memory http://crucial.com/

Edit: OWC has the memory also and a lot of people have recommended them as well. The max is 1GB.

I second the recommendation for Crucial and OWC. I also use OWC for most of my HD purchases (internal and external).

Word to the wise though - both offer lifetime warranties on RAM. OWC is usually cheaper, but I've also sent back several OWC chips. It has never been a problem and they've always promptly replaced the RAM that went bad, but it is something to keep in mind.

That being said, I still typically use OWC for my RAM.

you could probably get it for around $50 to $80 and I would also recommend OWC or Kensington.
