Mac Mini slowdown?

I recently upgraded my Mac Mini to a 1920 x 1080 display. The system seems to be running slower than before since. Could this display resolution upgrade be the cause of this?

If so, I am wondering if upgrading the system's main memory would help with this (it still has the original factory 256MB RAM). I understand that the Mac Mini has a finite amount of video memory, but I'm wondering if this system memory upgrade would help out with display-related slowdowns.

In the meantime, I have reduced the number of clors displayed from millions to thousands in an attempt to help with the issue.

Thank you for any info,

Your Mac mini will improve if you replace the original memory with a larger chip. There's just one memory slot, so the existing memory chip is removed, and you can then install up to 1GB maximum. That will make a difference, but you still will have the same video memory, which will be 32MB, and there's no way to upgrade that. More memory will possibly give you back performance, and you might see it working better than before. You are using the maximum level of video output, but that should not affect your system in a noticeable way. You can use with either Thousands or Millions of colors. Judge for yourself if there is a difference. It depends on the apps that you use....

I see you have a new iMac - try not to compare the two systems. The mini will be slower, and will always be slower than your iMac. :)
