Mac or PC Editing System?

I am trying to make sure a friend of mine does not get a PC for his DV editing system. He is looking to spend about $5,000 so the cost is not a huge deal. However, I want to provide him with solid proff of why Hollywood chooses the Mac platform. I've given him so info so far and he's liked what he's heard. Basically, he's open to the best solution. I'd just like some great info, maybe some links I can use. Thanks in advance for any help.

Final Cut Pro, Shake, DVD Studio Pro, the Powermac with DVD burner, Firewire, 23 inch HD cinema display, what more does he need?

Ten kilobucks (in addition to his five) in order to pay for this?

Another mortgage?

Just ask Steven Soderburgh, an Apple and Final Cut Pro fan.

Just point him to the emmies Apple has won for DV-related technology.

Apple software/hardware is designed inside and out for painless DV editing.

DVD Studio Pro is the best authoring tool available for under $1000.

iDVD is the best low-end quick and dirty but still look nice DVD tool. Period.

Final Cut Pro has an open architecture which expands to any format. FCP's biggest competitor, Avid XpressDV, is DV only and costs more. It's a good app, but limited in many ways.

Just look at the majority of editing suites which, instead of buying ONE additional full blown Avid system, are buying a bunch of FCP suites.

It just works.

Then he really needs to check out Safe Harbor
By far the best source for all your video needs. PC or Mac. System for sale as well bundled with software and DV hardware if he's really looking for that kinda setup.
I've been buying from this place since I had an Amiga Toaster system back in...........wwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy back.

Also might want to give Trinity a try.
