Well it seems that im getting an error on one of my macs in the office. When i go to open entourage it crashes right after the splash screen. I see the splash screen for entourage and the music is fine for a second then sounds garbled and the splash screen goes away and is replaced by entourage has encountered an error do you want to send this to apple. The crash log error is as follows:

Command: Microsoft Entourage
Path: /applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Microsoft Entourage
Version: ??? (???)

EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000004

This is a big headache and i can't figure it out. I tried moving the microsoft user data folder and got rid of the preference files and still nothing. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Did you ever find a solution? I am having the same issue. Usually i would just repair the disk permission and it would be fine. Not this time. I have tried everything i can think of. Uninstall, reinstall, update, repair disks etc...

Thank you,

Hutch

Hi,

I have a similar problem with entourage and secure socket webmail. Entourage without the Exchange Account is fine, with the Exchange Account crashes saying: "unable to establish a secure connection because the correct root certificate is not installed". I downloaded and installed the root certificate in Keychain but the problem persists.

I know it is not an Entourage problem because Safari, Firefox and Netscape browsers all fail to establish a secure connection to the Exchange Server Firefox generating error code -12219.

A colleague had a machine that worked but had not been upgraded for a year and we decided to incrementally apply Apple updates. As soon as the latest security update was applied to his machine connection to the Exchange Server ceased working. This means that it is something that Apple have done to their update.

Has anyone a fix?

Thanks
