Mac Os 9 on Titanium with Tiger?

I have a 1 ghz G4 Titanium Powerbook which has 10.4.8 on it.

I decided to go retro yesterday and play some Mac OS 9 games.

I was surprised that the Titanium wouldn't boot Mac OS 9.1 either from a
CD or after I installed Mac OS 9.1 on it via Target Disk Mode from a Sawtooth *which* will run Mac OS 9.2.2 and 10.4.8.

What's up with this?

Thanks, Jim.

Are you sure you have a Titanium? The Aluminum (firewire 800) 1 GHz PowerBook will not run OS 9. You'll need at least an OS 9.2 disk to install on that PowerBook. If you installed 9.1 via TDM, try installing updates.

If it's not an Al-Book (aluminum Powerbook) and indeed a true Ti-Book (Titanium Powerbook) then the only problems will be whether or not there are OS 9 drivers on the partition you are installing OS 9 on.
9.2 is the recommended minimum version for practically any OS 9 installation these days (completely unsupported on the most recent Apple hardware), and that might include your Ti-Book (if that's indeed what it is.)

What speed is the machine's processor?
