hey all!!
i tried to install 10.1.3 from software update but i have error!!!! am i the only one? or is it corrupted? ever since i tried to install language support...everything has been screwed up in OSX. languages didnt all work. is there anyhting i can do? uninstall osx and reinstall 10.1 from disk? how do you do this...please reply fast...

ok, here we go again with installer issues. this has been a common problem with many updates. 1st thing to do is to do a site search for 'install' and see if any of the possible solutions work for you. if something new has come up, lots of folks are going to be working on this.

btw - correst forum for this would be osx;)

what do you mean by "site search"...where? i cannot open disk copy or enable root user. i cannot get rid of the corrupted language support updates that did not work. i cannot install 10.1.3, and i cannot reinstall 10.1 from cd. it says new languages something...its greyed out. is there a way i can get rid of X, but keep everything (prefs and all my files) and then re-install 10.1 from cd???

spitty, ed wants you to use the search buttons on this site...

then search for "install update problems" etc...

I had the same problem. The update begins to download and install and, at a moment, it says it has been an error
After that, when I restarted the computer, it didn´t even start well, I have to type some strange commands in the Apple Firmware to start it again, but now, it searches for an OS every time that starts up :(
Th command I typed in the form ware was:
setenv bootdevice

(or something like that)
