Hi Folks

Two macs! an iMac 17" and a Mac Mini!

Is there a way of downloading the bundle of 10.4.10 (update) and actually taking it from one computer to another?

My Girlfriend and I need to download the latest version of 10.4.10 for her iMac and the only other computer we have is a Mac Mini (my own) so I am wondering if it is:
a) possible to download the bundle and move it from mac to mac
b) an issue because the computers are different models.... does this affect the downloading or compatibility?

Really, we should use Software Update - like you do, but it is without this update that we fail to connect her iMac to the college WLAN (our diognosis) so we need to find the bundle to put on to dic or send bia bluetooth or something

Yes, this is possible. You just need to download the update from Apple's web site rather than through Software Update.

Apple offers two kinds of updaters on their web site: the regular updater, which will update 10.4.9 (and only 10.4.9) to 10.4.10, and the "combo" updater, which will update any version of 10.4 to 10.4.10. I recommend the combo updater unless the download size is a real problem.

Also, different updaters are required for PPC and Intel Macs. Here are the links:
Intel Combo: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10410comboupdatev11intel.html
PPC Combo: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10410comboupdateppc.html

Yes, the only decision currently is between intel and PowerPC. Simply download the one fitting the computer it should be installed on via the links Mikuro gave, transfer the update to the Mac that needs the update and install.
