k, so, I tried playing some audio files today and got an error saying that no audio devices were available. i thought "that can't be right, i was playing music the other day".
i went to the "Sound" panel and all the alert sounds are greyed out, and there are no audio input/output devices to choose from.
the only things that have changed since i was last playing music is i installed some drivers for my radeon card and i updated to os x 10.4.3.
i've searched some other forums and have found that many people are experiencing a wide range of issues aftering making the same upgrade (10.4.3), so i assume my problem lies there.
is there anybody out there who can shed some light on the subject? i really don't want to reinstall just because of sound problems.
