Mac OS X Mail Server

I have been running the standard mac os X server mail server program for a while now and it has completely stopped working at least three times. It seems to die at random and no amount of fiddling with DNS settings or rebooting seems to fix it, then suddenly it will spring back to life and work as normal for about a week or two.

Is there a known problem? If so is there anyway to fix it (system upgrades etc.) or should I be looking for new software - if so what should I use?

How many users are on it? It isn't really recommend for very high traffic. Have you called Apple tech support?
