Mac OS X Mail won't open for others...

Is this a limitation for the Mac OS X default mail client? When my wife logs into her account and tries to use the mail client, it simply nods once and nothing happens.

I assume it's some type of a permission problem. The same thing also happens for AppleWorks - which was installed using my account. But what confuses me is that her account also has "Administration" privileges.

Please excuse my ignorance. I've been using PCs all my life. This is the first Mac I owned (for about 3 days now).

Thanks in advance.

BTW:
I'm using an iBook with Mac OS X 10.1.5.

You might try running a "Verify Permissions" and then "Repair Permissions"; both of which are found in the Disk Utility in /Applications/Utilities.

If you can afford it, I suggest you upgrade to the latest version of 10.2 (or even hold out until 10.3). These upgrades may fix the problems themselves.

Also, check the link in my signature as well. A fix may be in there.
