Unless you have a Mac going back to the 1990s, you really ought to upgrade your OS to MacOS X 10.4 as a minimum. It is just too hard to get support including software for MacOS X 10.3.
There is no such thing as a "universal print driver." However, there CUPS drivers. I don't recall if CUPS is part of MacOS X 10.3. If not, then you can install Gutenprint. Gutenprint does not include a driver for your printer. However, it does contain CUPS documentation that you need to read. It will also allow you to use the Linux Foundation's OpenPrinting Project's CUPS driver for your printer.
