Mac Os9 Starts Up But Crashes Repeatedly

Seems to crash if I move my cursor to one side of the screen, or if I move my cursor too fast(?) I can sometimes get into an app, but then it freezes and I can't get any work done.

Never mind! I figured out that the mouse was causing the crashes and replaced it. It's working fine now. A happy Mac and a happy me.

Ive been having trouble starting up classic in 10.4.2 lately. It opens and about half way though just freezes. When I boot up in OS 9 I get a bunch of error messages, but a restart fixes everything.
 
I haven't made the leap to OSX yet. And I have to admit it's a bit intimidating. Did your transition go smoothly? Any tips? Seems like one needs to replace just about everything in the setup - hardware, software... everything.
