I want to use the Apple upgrade to 10.5 b/c I have all these proposals that I need to submit of my work and they all want a youtube link, not a dvd. I want to use the free shareware I found at the apple website b/c I'm on a really tight budget. But I have lots of questions and I don't really know if I'm going about it the right way.

1. Can my computer handle the upgrade to 10.5? How do I do it?
2. Do I have to buy it or can I use the upgrade available at apple?
3. If I can't upgrade for free, what is the best dvd converter for a mac user? Right now I'm leaning towards imedia, but it's hard to know...

I'm so glad I found this forum. Any words of wisdom will be appreciated.

Thanks!

1. Yes, 10.5 will do fine with your hardware
Once you have the install disc, backup your system, then pop the disc in, restart the Mac, and select Upgrade install.
2. You have to buy it. Apple.com may still sell it - 10.6 is the current latest but that would require Intel processors, so I believe 10.5 is still in their selection.
3. Do you mean movie DVD to video converter? I use Handbrake it's been around for a long time, is simple but works fine, and it's free.
