Mac/PC networkable games

Hi folks. Just got my wifes laptop set up on our home network (Imac, AEBS, Dell Laptop - 802.11b on all) and need something to really show her what it can do.

Does anyone know of some networkable games we can play with one another upstairs/downstairs in the house that can work cross-platform?

Don't know if my wife is going to get a big kick out of blowing people away in a first person shooter....

Anyone know of card games, strategy games, board game type stuff that's playable over a LAN across both platforms?

did Civilization 3 have a multiplayer function?, i believe one of the add ons for Civ2 did. That game is is quite addictive for a turn based game

Hehe, I understand. You should add you are looking for such games. When one is talking about games in this forum, it is always or mostly this kind.

Freeciv is a free, open-source multiplayer game based on Civilisation - and it works on mac/pc/linux. Just make sure they're all running the same version. The mac one can be installed via Fink.
