I changed my security password last night
and now when I type in the new security password
I can not login.

I'm certain I'm typing in the correct word

Help!

You have obviously made a mistake of some sort with the password. Remember that they are case-sensitive, so try both in UPPER CASE and lower case. If that still doesn't work, boot from the Mac OS X installer CD by holding the "C" key during power-up, and then use the utility on the CD to reset the master password.

Can you boot holding the Shift Key down and get in?

If you can, trash the Multi-User Preference file - system folder>preferences
