I am curious. Is there a way to change the primary account name for a .Mac account for email purposes? I had used aliases in the past to control spam but somehow my primary account has been compromised. The only solution I was aware of was just to let my .Mac account lapse, then sign up for a new one. Any ideas?

As for your question - what do you mean compromised? Do you mean you are getting lots of spam? Sometimes that is not avoidable because the spammers use every combination of email address there can be. You can just delete those emails - or better yet, train your email program to put those in your junk folder.

Yes, I meant that now I am getting tons of spam, all usually with the same text body relating to the stock market. This began literally a couple months ago. Yes, I know I can delete them. What I wanted to know was whether there was a way to change my primary .Mac account name to eliminate the problem. That way I can only use aliases for normal daily email and if needed, can just delete an alias and create a new one.
