Ok, so here goes. I started working at a company as a graphic designer 3 days ago. I have been given a new Imac 10.6.2 I am more of a pc guy, but must learn to adapt to the mac.

So i have come across a problem, some fonts from the older Macs here in the office won't install here on the newer mac. I tried renaming the file extensio, tried downloading some programs and even tried copying the whole font folder from the old mac to the new mac. Nothing worked. I have read alot about this problem such as .ffil or .lwfn files. I am hella stumped on what to do and need help on this.

I need to start on projects already and having this problem is too frustrating.

Hope to hear form anyone!

Snow Leopard changed a lot of ways that it works with and manipulates fonts. There is no end to the reports of people having trouble using legacy fonts that worked fine with previous iterations of OS X but fail under the new Snow Leopard for one reason or another.

I believe the problem extends from working with PostScript Type 1/2 fonts, TTF fonts, or something... heh... that sure is definitive, isn't it?
