Mac Software that monitors modifications to a volume?

Hi there,

I'm setting up a shared volume which several people (Mac and PC users) will access.

I'd love it if certain people could be notified by email when a folder on that volume is modified, like so:


Main Folder
subfolder 1 <-- notify smithj@yahoo.com when modified
subfolder 2 <-- notify frankp@yahoo.com when modified
subfolder 3 <-- notify johnj@yahoo.com, smiths@aol.com when modified

Does anyone know of software that has such functionality ?

The shared volume will be an smb: share.

AppleScript's Folder Actions could be used in this way. It takes a little working out, but if you look through the Folder Actions examples and the email examples, you'll be set.
