Hey. I've just upgraded my family computers from PC to macs. I am running high speed DSL from Time Warner Cable and networking the internet wirelessly in my home through a Netgear WNR2000 v2 wireless router. Oddly, I have great internet connection, but I am unable to download software over the wireless network. I know it's not my internet, because when I hardwire directly from mac to modem, I can download and install software. I also successfully downloaded and installed software successfully at a Starbucks, so I know it can be done wirelessly. It must be something to do with the router, but I am at a loss to know what. Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Jed

First off, you are not running high speed DSL or any other kind of DSL. DSL is a service of the phone company. Your ISP is your cable provider, Time-Warner Cable. You have a cable modem, presumably with Time-Warner's Road Runner Internet service.

The Netgear WNR2000 Wireless Router establishes a guest network in parallel with its regular network. In my experience, a guest network connection is just slightly better than no connection at all. Make sure that your Mac is connecting through the regular network and not the guest network.
