Mac to TV

Guys, I have a big GE TV in this apartment I'm in now. It's got a VCR blah blah.

I got a RCA? cable out thing for my iBook, and want to watch the DVD's on the TV.

I plugged in the yellow cable from the iBook to the VCR, but I can't get anything to display on the TV. I imagine I need to find some way to flip the TV to 'Video' input, is that right?

Sorry for the vague terms, no idea what I'm doing :) I think though my problem is not the iBook, but the TV. Let me know if this is the case.

Thanks!

First, you need a video adapter, http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP...sZBbN7jLr2fnmSIG2Vgbw2EG/3.3.0.5.10.3.24.13.0
Then choose your TV's video standard, and your choice of resolution. probably 800 x 600, and NTSC, through the Displays Preference pane

NTSC in Japan? Are you using NTSC or PALS?

Once you've got that cleared up (what Delta described), look for a button on your remote labelled "Input" and push it until the TV says "Aux."
