Macbook Battery Problem

Hi,

My 2.0ghz black macbook has developed a problem with its battery. When it is plugged in, its fine, but it shows no battery (little X symbol where the battery is usualy). When i pull the powerplug out, the laptop dies. If i press the little guage button on the battery, nothing happens.

I assume either the battery has died, or the gizmometery inside the laptop that distributes power to the battery to charge it has died.

Whatever happens, I will take it to my local repair place, but the warrenty runs out in 24 days, so I am quite keen to get it done as soon as possible.

What do you think could be the issue?

Hi Abobtan,

You were absolutly right, I took it to my local apple repairer (Computer Associated Decisions in High Wycombe) and the lady just took my old one and put a new one in. Took 5 mins, all done under warrenty. Im quite happy with the outcome...
