I want to down load digital photos from my camera to my macbook. My macbook uses Office for Mac, Leopard. I then want to be able to view those photos on my TV. It is a large screen new HDTV, Sony. The cable connection on the TV seems to be RGB. The port on the macbook seems to be DVI. Can I do this? And if so what cables and other devices and software are required?? Thanks for your help. If it's a MacBook (not a MacBook Pro), then its connector is either MiniDVI or MiniDisplayPort. You'd require an adapter to either VGA or DVI. The Sony probably has both HDMI and other ports. The simplest and best solution would be to get the MiniDVI to DVI adapter and then a DVI-HDMI cable. (Replace MiniDVI with MiniDisplayPort if the MacBook is aluminum instead of white or black.)

If the connector on the MacBook really _is_ DVI, then it's a MacBook Pro, aluminum with aluminum coloured keys. Then you'd simply need the DVI to HDMI cable.

I'm having a similar issue with my macbook pro. i have the DVI to VGA adapter, and then bought a VGA to RGB cable, but can't seem to get an image. I've seen RGB specific converters before, and hope that they aren't needed to make this work (costing around $300). Can a macbook be displayed on a tv with a VGA to RGB connection?
