djackmac I was hoping that you, or someone else could give me a hand.
My wife and I both have 2.2 MBPs we purchased 29 months ago from the Apple website.
Some time last year, my computer started to have a blank screen after the screen timed out and shut off. The computer seemed responsive, but nothing appeared on the screen. My wife mentioned this happened to her too. She said she restarted to solve the problem. I figured that it wasn't a big deal since she's having the same issue, so I held the power button down and restarted. This would resolve the blank screen issue and I could use my computer again. We're both out of warranty, so we didn't bother taking them in.
Lately, under multiple tasks, my computer was sluggish. I figured that I needed more ram and ordered some.
Here's the problem. Before I bothered installing the ram, I did an Apple Hardware Test to make sure everything was good before I installed it. The test failed and returned the following errors (upon repeated testing attempts):
4SNS/1/40000000: TG0D
4SNS/1/40000000: Th0H
4SNS/1/40000000: TB0T
From what I can find on the intertubes, this seems to be a temperature sensor error. When I started researching the problem, I came upon the GPU problem - and it affects me. Here's the kicker - it's also affecting my wife's machine.
So I decided to test my wife's machine and it came up with the same errors on multiple attempts. Does this have anything to do with the GPU? Why would both computers report sensor failures?
Needless to say, I have not installed the ram. This has been frustrating. Your advice is appreciated!
