Hi,
since a couple of days my MacBook Pro (Mac OS 10.4.8) does no longer ask for my password when I wake it up. Before I observed this behaviour, I installed a lot of software (the machine is new and I am still putting together the work environment I need). I also had to perform a hard reset once since the machine would not wake up. I am not sure if this actually caused this behaviour, though.
The security dialog in system preferences still shows the option "Require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver" as checked. I tried unsetting and resetting this option, but to no avail.
I have no idea where Mac OS stores this option, so I cannot tell if the configuration got corrupted somehow.
Regards
Christoph
