Hi there guys new to the forums!Need a bit of your superioir knowlege.

Only bought my Macbook on August 7th(1st Apple product ever!).Always used windows comps/laptops but i wanted a new laptop and the Macbook fell in to my budget.

.Recently safari has been really slow!Web pages that i go daily tend to take for ages at the mo.

(Even deleted the following applications to create more space = I.chat,Garage band,I.Movie,)

I've done the usaual routine - Clear the cache , clear History , delete fonts
(Not my wirless router as my brothers Dell Laptop works fine and thats only an
intel pentium.M)

Please help!

Please wait for answers to come. This ain't a chat, people who would only have to say "No, I don't have any info..." probably _won't_ post, so you have to wait until someone who can offer a solution drops by.

That said... Is there anything else eating bandwidth on the network? I know you've said your brother's laptop's working fine, but some software (P2P software springs to mind) makes extensive use of bandwidth and can kill your web experience...

Have you tried another browser? Not that I'd want you to switch, I think Safari's a fine browser, but you might find out whether it's really a Safari-connected, an OS-connected or network-connected problem by also trying the same sites with Firefox, for example.

Thanks for the info mate! What alternative Web Browser would you recomend?after Firefox.

(Forgot to mention before , weather it makes a diffrence. My 60G HardDrive - im only useing 10G!)

It's really down to personal preference. I personally like Safari, and it runs quickly for me. Firefox and Camino are quite popular, so is OmniWeb - which I personally view as my "professional" browser.

I'll download a couple and see it makes any diffrence , weather it's Safari or not.

Thanks for your surrport

I've just received my Macbook too, and I've found it to be a little sluggish and I'm fingering the lack of RAM. 512 MB isn't enough to have a few apps open at the same time, I think.

Will post back when I get more RAM.

Erh, well, I thought _that_ was clear. The MacBook is only useable if it has 1 GB or more RAM. Tiger alone is not really happy with 512 MB - but on an intel Mac, you'll need even more if you use *any* Rosetta emulated applications, because the Rosetta process for each emulated application needs its own RAM as well. Lack of RAM slows any machine down, since memory has to be constantly moved to the harddrive and back etc.

That is entirely not true. I've been running on my black MacBook with stock 512 MB RAM since I got it. I've been running Adobe Photoshop CS, Call of Duty 2, and a few other higher apps at more than fast enough speeds.
