I have two MacBooks(13", 1GB, OSX10.4.11) and a Vizio VU-42L (component video X 2, RGB, HDMI x 2 I have been trying to connect either MacBook to the screen. I have tried the following adapters: Apple mini dvi to VGA; Apple mini dvi to component video (RCA and S-video); Apple mini dvi to DVI, third party DVI to HDMI.
None of the configurations on either computer result in a picture on the screen. Both computers, when connected to either the mini to VGA or the mini to component adapters, detect the TV, but no combination of resolution, mirroring, etc. produce a picture. The mini to HDMI chain is not recognized.
I have connected everything with power off, power on either machine, and power on both with no success. F7 does nothing. Both MacBooks have connected to external video projectors via the mini to VGA adapter successfully.
Any suggestions welcomed.
