I've a dual G4 w/1GB RAM and OSX 10.2
about a week or two ago it started locking up after sitting idle for 12-13 hours. this is not a kernel panic, just that the entire machine freezes up: can't move the mouse, can't log in via ssh, nada. as well, no messages are written to syslog.
does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? or any ways to troubleshoot?
the machine is barely 3 months old, and my first Mac (though i'm a well-experienced unix user and windows too).
i'm beginning to think it might be a hardware issue since it's definitely not a kernel panic. i've installed a fair amount of software, but all of it in "stable" release, except for a beta of X11 from apple.com.
hopin for help.
best regards
