Macintosh SE External Drives

goonies never say die
Today was a good day. I went to a local thrift store, and to my surprise, I found an Apple 3.5" External Floppy Drive and an Apple 5.25" External Floppy drive, with a disk still inside each drive. I was able to connect the 3.5" drive to the SE and it was able to read floppies off of it. My question is about the 5.25" drive.... On a Macintosh SE related site, it said to never connect a 5.25" floppy drive to the floppy port, because it will damage the port and any internal drives. So how can I use this drive if I can't even connect it to my computer?

I believe that the last Apple computer to be able to use a 5.25 floppy was the Apple IIgs. No Macintosh model that I can remember could use the 5.25

Well at least I tried to get it to work. I wanted to see what was left on that 5.25" floppy disk. Can I really do anything with the Macintosh SE or is it just a nice piece of Apple history that could sit on my desk next to my G4?
