MacJournal - can't make new entry

I am using the most recent version of MacJournal, which is a great little program.
I'm having a problem though. I cannot create any new journal entries. I didn't change any settings or anything or delete any files.
Any one else experiencing this or know how to fix it?

go to versiontracker and get the updated version 1.5.4

that will do the trick!
