Macromedia MX vs. older

what is MX? what does it mean and what does it do? Is it better or worse than thew older versions? I'm thinking of buying the macromedia web studio, so I don't know If I should get the MX one or not.

MX is the newer released version of the software. it runs natively on OSX.

Dreamweaver MX has a nice PHP intgration feature.

Flash MX has good XML capabilites.

Overall... buy the newer one, unless the deal on the older one is so good that you buy the old one and then use it to buy the new one upgrade package (which is way cheaper!)

Ok, at the academic place they both cost the same, so I'll buy the MX one

Does anyone know how to create flash text in the new Dreamwever MX? I go through the same steps as I did in the old version, but the application doesn't save my file (.swf), I have searched my entire HD and it's just not there. HELP!
