Mail Accounts Dissappeard After Prefs Discarded

I chunked all my system prefs and now, when I restarted Mail, all my accounts are gone. Most of my emails are there except for the ones I received in the past 12-24 hours. I looked in ~/Library/Mail/ and all my accounts are still listed. Any idea on how to get things back to normal?

Back up your Mail folder, then try re-setting up your email accounts in Mail's preferences.

Be sure to back up your Mail folder (~/Library/Mail) -- I can't stress that enough. If you don't, and you re-set up your email accounts with the same information as before, Mail may overwrite all the files and folders in the Mail folder, and you'd lose all the mail.

You may be able to back up the Mail folder, re-set up your accounts, then just import the old .mbox files to the correct accounts.
