Mail also in Smart Folders?

I don't get it: when I search in Spotlight, I also get e-mails that contain my search strings. In my smart folders, using the same criteria, I don't. How can I fix this?

I did find a search criterium in Smart Folders called "E-mail Address", but that only gives you the Address Book contacts and their addresses, not the actual e-mails that were sent to and from that address.

Anyone?

I posted a similar question over on the Apple Support site, and someone was kind enough to say the following:

"Smart Folders relate to things that can be found by the Finder. Since E-mails are managed by Mail and Todos by iCal, they don't appear in Smart Folders. So, as you've pointed out, there are no search attributes for those types of data.

I agree it's duff because the Spotlight search bar finds all of this stuff in one go. And you can't save a search from the Spotlight search bar."

Sigh. Anybody know a workaround to this? Perhaps someone will figure out a way to directly save Spotlight searches as smart folders...
