Mail and OSX

Hi There,

I use Mail in OSX for my email. People who receive my 'Mail' emails on PCs complain about spurious characters like squares and sometimes random digits. Has anyone seen this before and found a fix? Its more than one person so it's not necessarily a PC issue. I would think some thing else is awry in the Mac....

Cheers,

Take a look at your setting for Message>Text Encoding>. Which selection is checked? Mine is set to Automatic and I never have a problem.

What language are you writing in? ie does it contain other than ASCII characters? Maybe accented letters, umlauts etc?

How many fonts have you installed in your system (not incl. those already in Mac OS X install)?

Do you know what the recipients are using? Outlook, Outlook Express, other, ..?

Hi Giaguara,
Thanks for the help; we reset and switched off rich text and all seems to be well once more between PC and Mac.
The writing was in English, so there was no funny business with accents or the like....
Had no other additional fonts installed; leading a life of simplicity in Canada.
Much appreciated once more!
Thanks.
