Mail app not starting up

the other night I had to force my G4 to shut down. When I restarted it the next day, I tried launching the Mail app and it does not launch. When I view it in the Dock it appears to be launched however I cannot access the program. I tried force quitting it and relaunching it... I also tried restarting the computer and it does not launch properly.

Any ideas what I can do to restore my Mail app?
 
move the file com.apple.mail.plist that is located in the home/Library/Preferences folder to your desktop. Make sure the file does not exist in that folder. Restart mail.app and see if everything works fine again.
