Mail (latest) has been acting very strange lately. Every message I want to read has to be adjusted by clicking

When I read another message and go back to it, I have to do it again. This never happened before.
I can't add attachments to any new email, reply or forwarded email. I can't drag a picture into the message either.
I can't copy and paste more than a couple of lines of text. If I try it again below the couple of lines that pasted nothing happens.
