I followed advice given to Jackie about Compaction error, dragging mail file to desk top. I created new folders to replace those in the old mail folder. But when i tried to import only one folder imported successfully. When i tried to choos the others a message says mailbox not found or invalid. There are two types of folder in the original mail folder as it now appears moved onto the desktop. Some are normal blue folders and others (with the same names are american style mailbox icons) ending with the suffix .mbox. These however are greyed out when i try to select them from the import dialog. Help!!
Also the two main user folders mine and my wifes in the normal inbox only go back with about a weeks worth of eamils each in the new mailbox.
This is a disaster.
Any help appreciated - cant lose those emails!
