Mail freezing

Hi

I have a problem with my mail application under OSX Tiger 10.4.8

Sometimes, not always when I click to open up the application it starts to open, the inbox starts to load then it just freezes with the ball of death going around & get s no further

If I force quit then the second time I open all is ok!

Have you tried to repair permissions? See the second post in this thread:
