Mail Freezing

Hi - I wonder if anyone has any advice they can give me:

1 - When I open mail it goes to pull my accounts and just sticks on 4 accounts. When I click on those accounts and view info it just says "calculating size"

2 - I have re-indexed and this has not fixed the problem (removing Envelope Index and restarting mail)

3 - I have re-created my accounts (removing com.apple.mail.plist and then opening mac and re-entering my account info) but this did not work either.

Any other thoughts on how to combat this and fix the accounts. There are no large mails or suspect emails server side so I know its not a problem that end.

Not sure if this is a fix, perhaps you can to have Mail just download the headers and leave the body of messages on the server until you click the emails to read them. Perhaps, as you have stated, they may be large emails, and too much to initially download.
