Mail in 7B28 doesn't work for me

When I open Mail in Panther build 7B28 on my Quicksilver G4 733 Mhz it starts up normaly and the menu bar appears, but there's no window at all. When I choose "new window" from the menu just nothing happens. I'm able
to choose "new mail" but when I try to send the message the window just disappears but doesn't send the message.

Could this be because I set all language settings to German? I'll try to set all to Englisch again. Any other ideas?

Well, localisation is FAR from finished in 7B28. Reports are, that the 7B3x builds bring news there.

However: If Mail.app misbehaves, usually it's enough to reset the preferences by deleting them (or moving them to a safe place).
 
Deleting the Preference-Files didn't work. But I found out, that if I change the language settings back to English Mail works again. If it's set to German it just comes up with the menu-bar without any windows and you have to force quit it cause Quit from the menu won't work.
 
My mail.app just immediately quits when i click on it to run. I logged in as another user and tried that and my mail app worked. So I went back to my
other user on OS X and moved the Mail preferences out of the library. Mail.app
loaded properly and I recreated my account preferences. b/c I had IMAP nothing
was lost when I removed the folders except for the deleted and sent mailboxes.

Another thing, I tried importing my old mail preferences and it crashed. So I'd
sure it was a corruption with my old mailboxes. Norton Disk Doctor revealed
a problem with my hard drive partition. the hard drive is fixed but the mail preferences had to be recreated.
