mail in osx

hi there,
i'm trying to use the mail program in osx (10.1.5), but something's not right.
i can send mail via a pop server, but somehow it won't receive/ pick up email from it.
does anybody have a clue what the problem could be? i guess somewhere i have a setting wrong in the preferences, but i don't know which one...
 
You should verify the mail server settings with your ISP. The settings for incoming mail server is in preferences/accounts/ CLICK ON YOUR ACCOUNT, then edit
