Mail only gets some messages from server

I have a G5 2.7 MHz with 0S 10.4.4 running Mail 2.05. Our organization uses Microsoft Outlook Exchange as the server program. I am finding that there are many messages visible on the Exchange server that never get delivered to my desktop machine. There is no pattern as to the sender or the type of message that I can detect. Our IT people's response it that it is my fault for having a Mac. Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on, and how to fix it?
Thanks

Odd, I have seen this behavior with Microsoft's own Entourage 2004. Entourage could not see messages that Mail delivered easily. I did think I saw a pattern. I had enabled spam filtering. Microsoft's spam filter is brain dead. To make matters worse, a filter became immortal once enabled within an Entourage account. My workaround was simply to create a new account within Entourage with my Exchange account information. I did not enable spam filtering within the new account.

My workaround seems to have worked with Entourage. Perhaps, you can try a similar workaround in Mail. In your new account, enable no rules or filters.
