making an alias of of my user home?

Barking at the moon.
I'm always clicking on the HD and navigating to my user's home folder where I can access my Music, Documents, etc. Is there an easier way to view this in the finder? I wanted to make an alias of it and stick it in the dock, but it wouldn't let me. GAH!!!
 
I'm confused...I was able to just drag my user home straight into the dock...:confused:

Is this not supposed to be possible?

ah...k Scott...for a sec there I had thought maybe I found some kind of cool hack

oh well :rolleyes:
