Hello everyone, does anyone know of any useful software that can create maps, small small street maps. Like, maps which only cover about a 5 block area or something like that.

I know it is kind of a weird request.

Also, I need these maps to be created for some places in Japan, so maybe something that allows me to build my own maps would be best...

Any ideas?
 
I am not aware of any map making software specific to the Mac os. I often have my students prctice their skills by taking maps from phone books and tracing them. The software that we use for that is Illustrator and FreeHand, either will work fine, this is NOT a task for PhotoShop. Thes two illustration packages will allow you to create the maps and they will be ready to be used at any size.
